Well, I am posting for the first time in 2017 and damn, time truly has flown by and just left me in the dust. Well…where can we start? Maybe I should make this a bulleted list so people understand all the things that have happened this year and can help me decipher what to think about them.
Let’s start with December 2016 and work our way forward…maybe this will help us out?
- So in December of last year, I…not sure how to say this, but on the 12th, it was 1 year since my Papa passed away. That was kind of hard to deal with. Even though he was a complete and total asshole. He loved me and I knew it. To complicate December more, on the 25th, William’s grandfather (who he was extremely close to) passed away. He was 89 years old. This had a great impact on William and honestly I didn’t know what to do for the first time in my life. I was lost. I have lost both of my grandfathers already and to watch my husband go through this loss hurt me deeply. All I could do is tell him it would get better and he was not in any more pain.
- In January 2017, William’s mother Joan moves to Elgin to live with us. Yes, I am 34 years old and my Mother-in-law lives in my house. Where’s J-Lo when you need her? So to top everything off, with William’s mom moving in, exactly 11 days after his Grandfather passed away, one of the most important women in his life passed away also, his Aunt Bennie. Aunt Bennie was a kind soul and I for one loved her, just like all of our her family. I remember the text message I got from Heather (William’s cousin) when she passed away. I immediately called William and told him the news. I think he was in shock, but again, this hurt him deeply and I didn’t know how to process all this grief for him. He had to do it. I was feeling my own grief, because these were people introduced into my life and became family to me through the course of the 10 years that I have known and loved William.
- So moving forward to March, April and May…well after much discussion and stressful nights, William and I decided to build a new house and move Joan in with us permanently. Now, for those that know me…I don’t put up with bullshit and frankly it is quite entertaining to deal with my MIL. So with a lot of help and talking to our wonderful friends David and Nicole, we started the process of building a house in Stratford Plantation in Elgin, SC.
- June, July, August and September…well we bought land, and the house is coming along pretty quickly from everything that I have seen. We have had some bumpy roads and overall I think we have handle them nicely. Not sure if in the correct way, but nicely nonetheless.
- Now, we are caught up to October 2017 and in the current month that I am in and man has this year just flown by. So here are some more things that have happen: I entered debt consolidation (this was a hard process for me), I cut up all my credit cards except 1 and I am trying to get my weight under control. While I am doing good with the debt consolidation, I am still working on all my other things and trying to get more stuff moving forward for me, myself. William is being a huge help and really helping me with stuff. He has finally taken over paying my bills (this was a huge deal for those who know us).
So, did this caught you up with us over the last year. I know I left out some detail, but honestly who needs to know that stuff anyway. By the way, my MIL causes me stress!!! Just thought someone should know that in case I was to have a heart attack. Until next time…peace!
