What can I say that hasn’t been said a million times? “New Year, New You” right? Well today I am taking the bull by the horns and doing it! Yes, I am going to start blogging and I am going to utilize my month long “Facebook” break to set give myself the encouragement that I need to make this happen long term. Now, is this going to be something I can do over night? Well of course not, I’m lazy and this is most definitely going to be a new experience for me!

Here is a recap of 2021 for those a little lost:

  • January was pretty much normal, nothing major happened except Kershaw2Go added Sunday to its operating hours. That was pretty cool and has been steadily growing! Had surgery on my left wrist to remove a cyst that was causing my hand to go numb. Shit was horrible.
  • February was the suckiest month of the year! Starting the line up off was the loss of my amazing mother, followed by my Uncle Jesse (on my Dad’s side) passing, then my BFF’s mom passing. All that shit happened in February! I mean damn! Can I really take more of this shit? I guess so, because March didn’t go well either…
  • March was a lot of things, we lost a dear, close personal friend that pioneered foster care in South Carolina. Then, I experienced my first birthday without my mom #38. Then we experienced my Mom’s first birthday in heaven. Talk about a trying experience. Then rounding the rest of the month off with me getting my second COVID vaccine.
    • We did celebrate my Mom’s heavenly birthday by grilling out and the placing flowers and balloons at her grave side. I still wish she was here with us :-(
  • April was a pretty slow month, but got to experience my 12th wedding anniversary with William! We also enjoyed Easter on the Farm (my brothers house) and I got my head burnt! Yes, I am a ginger and I burn easily! It hurt like hell for 2 weeks!
  • Moving forward into May, William and I visited Sam and Brittany in Florida and I got my very first tattoos! Yes I got 2 at the same time! One represents me and the other represents my mom. She always wanted to get one and I kept telling her no :-( Spent time with Adam and Jonathan as well.
  • June got her super quick and I got to experience my oldest nephew graduating from High School. It was magical and I can’t believe I got to witness it! I travelled to New Orleans with Adam to see my first love Jonathan retire from the Marine’s. God I’m really starting to feel old now.
  • July – Aunt Beth came home and we go to see her and Bellamy! For the first time in forever, I could feel myself healing! PACE gets ready to launch!!!
  • August, William, Megan, Austin and I all jump on a plane and go to Colorado for a conference! It was amazing! We get back just in time to launch PACE Academy on August 9th! It was truly incredible!
  • September, William and I sneak away for a long weekend with Sam and Brittany! #FulwiderForever is all I am going to say on this one :-) We also got to see William’s family (which had already been over a year for us) for Mama B’s birthday!
  • In October, Sam, Brittany, Aunt Allison and Tebow come for a visit! It was magical! William and I take the kids on a magical trip down memory lane with a visit to Coker College aka Coker University (now). We then took a much needed break in Brevard North Carolina, finding an amazing Bed & Breakfast and getting to visit Caroline, Geoff and the kids!
  • November happened and I went to the beach for the whole month, well pretty much the whole month. At the beginning, I got my ears pierced. Bucket list item checked! I then had to experience my Dad getting remarried, only 282 days after my Mom passed. Who does shit like that? I guess he does? #Prick
  • December rolled on by and William and I got to visit Ohio for the very first time! We took Colton and Kailey to see Machine Gun Kelly. They went by themselves and William and I went to the Cleveland Orchestra with my friends Jacob and Josh. We explored Cleveland and some smaller towns and even got to tour the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame while there! Totally cool it was! And William (because I said to) almost ran over MGK while we were scoping out his Coffee shop. Who stops in the middle of the road, without flashers on and just gets out. Ummmm…#rude but also #epic and total badass! Unfortunately we had to leave that day and return home to SC. Our luck just was not with us as both Colton and Kailey caught COVID. Isolation began and for the first time in 11 years, I had to cancel my annual Christmas Eve party. I was heartbroken and numb. Thankfully, Colton starting feeling better later that weekend.

While I type this and remembering everything that has gone on in 2021, I am still numb. Hell, 2021 took Betty White from us and only 2 weeks from her 100th birthday. Plus, we have been having earthquakes, something that we don’t normally experience where we live (and yes we are on a fault line, but most quakes occur further below the surface and we hardly feel them or hear them).

With all this being said, I am going to focus on me for a change and correct my poor decisions that I have made over the last 38 years. As something that scares me quite a bit is that I won’t make it to 60 years old. As my Mom passed away before her 61st birthday. Hard to believe she is gone. More to come and I think maybe, I will write about the days I traveled and include some fabulous pictures!

Until then…peace out!
